What is Meditation?

Meditation involves a choice...to be present in the here and now. It is the practice of training your attention to focus on something. It is the quieting of the mind from its usual chatter. When the mind becomes still and quiet in meditation, we can come to a much deeper understanding of ourselves. Attention is the underlying key to all techniques of meditation.

There are many different types and techniques of meditation...but the choice to be present in the now and quieting the mind by focusing your attention are the basis for all.
